How we calculate
Odds of 1.50 do not mean 66.7 % — that would be true only with no margin. Remove the margin (odds × (1 + margin)) and the real chance is about 61.5 %. The ticket's chance is the product of its legs, and the bookmaker's take is 1 − chance × combined odds: how much of every unit staked stays with the bookmaker on average. The margins we use are measured in our database (football 8.4 % on 34,487 matches at closing odds, MLB 4.2 % on 11,893); goals are an estimate.
This is arithmetic, not betting advice. Nobody knows whether your ticket will win — but its chance and the margin can be calculated, and that is what the bookmaker does not print on the slip. 18+ · gamble responsibly.
